Behind Miami’s success & glowing international popularity,
South Florida developed a unique enclave for architecture of the international style. The enclave in Miami was so unique it was later coined (MiMo), an acronym of “Miami Modernism”. As a practitioner, William Hamilton Arthur Architect expounds on his grandfather’s mid-century traditions of passive energy design, open-air environments and the type of atmospheric transparency that characterizes the finest architecture of the region.
This raised residence in the Shorecrest Neighborhood uses Concrete Cantilevers to shade the exterior windows & walls― a technique we learned through our association with mid-century modernist Igor B. Polevitzky.
